Bunbury, Bunbury Leschenault and Bunbury Central Rotary Clubs
Rotary very rarely sings its own praises, instead it likes to quietly go about its business of helping those who are in need and it has been doing just that in Bunbury since 1939.
The Bunbury Rotary club is one of four that now exist in the region along with Bunbury Central, Bunbury Leschenault and South Bunbury.
Members come from a wide range of professional, business and arenas. President of the Bunbury club John Thompson says "All members are driven by a philanthropy philosophy of assisting those in the local community with needs."
The Bunbury, Bunbury Leschenault and Bunbury Central clubs are the driving forces behind this year's Rotary Auction.
President of the Bunbury Leschenault club Adrian Eagan says the club is very proud of its association with the Auction, along with the clubs "Give a Damn, Give A Can" project, where residents and businesses are asked to donate a can or packet of food which is distributed to various community welfare and charity groups.
Adrian says "With both projects it doesn't matter how much or how little you give , it all helps"
All three club presidents are excited by the decision to take the auction online.
This year the beneficiaries of the Rotary Auction are Leukaemia Foundation, the Centre for Cerebal Palsey and Mens Sheds Inc.
Over the past 16 years the auction has grown from strength to strength and Geoff says that can only be attributed to Rotary’s hard work, the generosity of the public and in particular the generosity of local business owners.
