| Luxury comes to this year’s Rotary Auction with the sale of a superb 2010 Mercedes-Benz Ml300cdi AMG courtesy of Bunbury’s Coastal Automotive.
Just looking at this German masterpiece is in itself a combination of style and substance with its 21 inch alloys and muscular stance. The front end screams determination with its black louvred radiator grille and chrome headlights complimented by the fog lamps and large air intakes to give it that sporty appearance.
Open the door of the M-Class Mercedes-Benz and it exudes class. Leather everywhere and not just any leather – the sports seats, lid of the armrest between the front seats and the door centre panels are all high grade designo leather as is the sporty steering wheel. Of course the front seats are electrically adjustable!
Now here is something different – the M-Class that I drove was the 7 speed automatic – now here is the different bit – the gear shift is on the steering column, press a knob and it is in park, flick the lever down for drive and up for reverse – very classy!
The sound system will blow you away too with a Harmon Kardon surround sound system with 12 speakers! (yes 12).
Fuel consumption is very good too for a six cylinder diesel engine at a combined 8.4 litres per 100 klm travelled and the grip on the road of this AWD gives you great confidence when cornering in all conditions.
There is just too much to write about the M-Class Mercedes in such limited space, such as the cavernous cargo area when you fold seats down to the great seven speed automatic transmission that selects gears very briskly to give you maximum pulling power and the acceleration is terrific.
